<p>Es característico de nuestra época maderil que en la arquitectura entienda mejor al estilo de la madera y a veces produzca en él obras verdaderamente notables, mientras nuestro arte monumental revela un grado de limitación y desorientación sin precedentes. Este fenómeno se explica por sí mismo, ya que el tipo de arquitectura que consiste en el tratamiento decorativo de las construcciones de madera, que tuvo oportunidad de desarrollarse en los edificios livianos y de grandes luces de la industria y de los ferrocarriles, es en principio estrictamente no monumental.</p>

<p>TopSolid CADCAM 7 is a more modern and more powerful CAD solution than SolidWorks is.</p>
<p>I&#8217;m sure that the statement above is a very hard thing for SolidWorks users to believe and accept. One reason for this is that  many SolidWorks uses have a background of using a CAM product like Mastercam, Gibbscam, Surfcam, Featurecam, etc. all of which started life as wireframe modelers. As time went on these products desperately needed solid modeling tools so they licensed Parasolid which was then grafted on to their existing wireframe modeler. Years latter it can clearly be seen that this approach to grafting the Parasolid kernel onto a wireframe modeler isn&#8217;t the way to go and results in a cobbled together approach that&#8217;s not very powerful, wastes a ton of time, requires wireframe extraction of geometry, forces you to tell it what you want to select, etc. When you compare SolidWorks to the solid modeling tools you get with Mastercam, Gibbscam, Featurecam, etc. SolidWorks looks like the best thing since sliced bread.</p>

<p>Euclid does not deal directly with distance. The ancient Greeks understood the meaning of saying two segments in the same direction were in the ratio `three to two&#8217;, but they did not have a direct notion of distance, because that would have entailed an understanding of real numbers, which they did not have. Similarly, Euclid does not measure angle. To him, an angle was just the geometrical configuration consisting of two intersecting lines. In fact the modern notion of `radian measure&#8217; is only a little more than a hundred years old.</p>
