Honeycomb Fence (Superblue.co.uk)

The Honeycomb Fence is a sculptural garden fence. Inspired by the organic forms of our hedgerows the fence provides a visually soft boundary. It creates small glimpses of the landscape beyond through the undulating honeycomb structure. The shadows created by the form change as sunlight passes across the surface and can be lit with striking effect at night.

“Using the online Configurator, every user sets up a design that is unique, their own layout that they can identify with. The configuration is generated by a computer using the customers inputs, and then the final design is done by parameters from the architects to yield an attractive and practicable result. The caravans are produced using the principles of mass customization: this allows both the individual wishes of the customer to be accommodated while producing the caravan with series methods. “

“It is clear that TopSolid is widely used in mechanical engineering spheres. However, I am really surprised that this software is not used by more architects. The possibility of achieving complete associativity from design to conception is a huge technological advance; its benefits remain to be discovered and more importantly exploited.”
